The Choir Engine

The Choir Engine has grown into a wonderfully supportive and dynamic community choir and has raised thousands for local charities. The main aim of the Engine is to ensure that everyone, regardless of age or ability, has access to high quality vocal techniques that ensure healthy and productive singing.

Community

What we like to sing.

If you’re looking to join a friendly, laid-back group where you can learn to sing and have fun in the process, we’d love to welcome you! We take pride in being a true community-based choir that values inclusivity and connection.

From uplifting pop hits and soul-stirring ballads to timeless classics and contemporary choral pieces, our music reflects our shared love of singing and the joy it brings.

Where we like to sing

We are proud to share our music with the community and have performed at a wide range of local events and venues. From the New Milton Music Festival, where we recently celebrated award-winning success, to intimate and inspiring performances at St. Mary’s Church in Bransgore.

Caroline Moss

Choir Leader: Caroline Moss

Caroline Moss began her teaching career as a secondary music specialist, bringing her passion for music education to students from an early age. Over the years, she has taught in schools across the globe, including in Hong Kong and France, gaining a wealth of experience and a deep understanding of different musical traditions.

Her international expertise includes leading numerous music tours across Europe, with destinations such as Barcelona, Prague, Krakow, and Berlin, inspiring students to engage with music on a global stage.

Currently, Caroline is the Director of Music at Durlston School in New Milton, where she oversees the music curriculum for students aged 4 to 16. Her leadership fosters a vibrant musical environment, encouraging creativity and excellence. In addition to her role at Durlston, Caroline is an examiner for the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM).

In 2016, she founded The Choir Engine, a community choir that has blossomed into a supportive and dynamic musical community. Under her guidance, the choir has raised thousands of pounds for local charities and provided a welcoming space for singers of all ages and abilities.

Caroline’s dedication to vocal health was further cemented in 2023 when she became a certified Vocal Balance teacher. This innovative technique emphasises the importance of vocal health and supports singers in achieving their full potential, no matter their background or experience.

The Choir Engine’s achievements have been widely recognised, including winning the Best Choir award at the New Milton Music Festival in 2023. Caroline’s passion for fostering musical excellence continues to inspire and empower those she works with.
